Ministry leaders, your community is hungry for a place to belong and find hope.  By investing in your care ministry you create an environment for lives to be transformed. People then can’t help but share with others when their lives are transformed.

In this episode, I’m sharing why I feel that Care Ministry is so incredibly important and a little about my journey and experiences.

Churches are on the front lines of supporting people through suffering and challenges.  Every day we have people in our congregations struggling with addictions, mental health grief, loss, physical health challenges and stress.   Ministry leaders are first responders for their members and often the surrounding community. And yet it doesn’t have the resources, training and staff that many community support organizations have.

I often see and hear leaders saying that “we don’t have the resources to be a crisis centre”   “We aren’t able to tend to everyone.”  And I agree, but people are desperate for a place where they can belong, find purpose and have hope.  By investing in your care ministry you create an environment for these three elements to flourish and where lives can be transformed.

In this first episode I chat about:

  •  My story, experience and frustrations
  •  How Hope Made Strong began
  • My goals for this podcast

3 Steps to Building a Sustainable Care Ministry

Pastoral staff are a key component to congregation care, but they will quickly be overrun and experience compassion fatigue if they are the sole resource for those suffering. It’s necessary to have a care team and an intentional care plan for those who are looking to your church for support.
